Henderson, Nev. – (December 8, 2022) The City of Henderson Police Department will start an enhanced traffic enforcement initiative targeting speeders from December 9, 2022, through January 3, 2023.

During this time, Henderson Police will use saturation patrols to stop speeding vehicles in Henderson areas that are known for excessive speeds and that have received the most citizen complaints of speed violations.

According to Injury Facts, “Speeding was a factor in 29% of all traffic fatalities in 2020, killing 11,258, or an average of over 30 people per day”. Speeding is more than just breaking the law; there are consequences for risky driving behavior.

The Henderson Police Department received $231,300.00 in grant monies for the enhanced enforcement through the Nevada Department of Public Safety – Office of Traffic Safety for the 2023 (Performance period October 2022 through September 2023) Joining Forces program.
