Henderson, Nev. – (June 23, 2022) The City of Henderson Police Department will start an enhanced traffic enforcement initiative targeting speeders from June 26th through July 18th, 2022.

During this time, Henderson Police will use officers dedicated to this initiative to complete saturation patrols throughout the Henderson area to stop speeding vehicles. These officers will target areas that are known for excessive speeds and areas that have received the most citizen complaints of speed violations.

According to Injury Facts, “Speeding was a factor in 29% of all traffic fatalities in 2020, killing 11,258, or an average of over 30 people per day”. Speeding is more than just breaking the law; there are consequences for risky driving behavior. 

Joining Forces is a multi-jurisdictional law enforcement program aimed at reducing injuries and crashes through statewide enforcement of traffic safety laws. The goal is to save lives by increasing public awareness about the dangers of making poor choices while driving.

The Henderson Police Department received $237,300 in federal funding for the enhanced enforcement through the Nevada Department of Public Safety – Office of Traffic Safety for the 2022 Joining Forces program.
