On March 16, 2022, at approximately 01:30 a.m., Henderson Police and Fire Departments, responded to the 700 block of Center Street in reference to a 5-year-old male, who was unconscious and not breathing. 

Arriving responders attempted resuscitative measures, but the victim was beyond help and was pronounced deceased on scene.   

Investigators identified the suspect in the child’s death as the victim’s father, 33-year-old Gerald Oglesby. 

Oglesby was taken into custody and booked into the Henderson Detention Center on the following charge:

One count of Open Murder

As this is an open investigation, no further details will be released at this time.

This is being investigated as the first homicide for the City of Henderson for 2022.
