Henderson, Nev. – (March 9, 2022) On March 7, 2022, at approximately 5:18P.M., the City of Henderson Police and Fire Departments responded to the 100 block of East Paradise Hills Drive in reference to a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

Preliminary investigation revealed a black 2006 Ford Mustang was traveling eastbound Paradise Hills Drive at a high rate of speed.  The driver lost control of the vehicle striking the right-side curb at the southeast corner of the intersection and continued onto the eastbound sidewalk striking a juvenile pedestrian.

The 13-year-old pedestrian succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Impairment is not considered a factor, while speed is considered a factor in this incident.

Charges against the driver are pending additional investigation.

Traffic on Paradise Hills was closed in both directions from Skyline Road to Greenway Road for approximately 3 hours while the investigation was conducted.

As this is still an active and open investigation, no further details will be provided at this time.

The name of the decedent will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office after next of kin notifications.

The collision is being investigated as the fifth accident-related fatality for 2022.
