Henderson, Nev. – On August 16th, at approximately 12:03 P.M., the City of Henderson Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to the 500 block of Chelsea Drive in reference to a shooting incident. 

Officers arrived on scene to discover a 31-year-old male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

The male was transported to an area hospital in grave condition and was pronounced deceased.

The name of the decedent will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office pending notification of next of kin. 

During the course of the investigation, Henderson Detectives identified 28-year-old Lucretia Smith as the suspect. 

Today, August 17,2021, Smith was apprehended and booked into the Henderson Detention Center on one count of Open Murder.  Her booking photo is attached.

As this is an open investigation and the case not yet adjudicated, no further details will be released at this time.

This is being investigated as the twelfth homicide for the City of Henderson for 2021.
